“BREAKFAST ON THE MOON” Future Classic by Patrizia Pepe

A new season dawns, where personal image is projected towards symbolic lunar space, floating somewhere between present and future… a space where anything is possible and where Patrizia Pepe woman uses her emotions to discover undreamt-of interpretations and unprecedented transformations, exploring sophisticated new possible interplays between shape, material and colour.

The traditional canons and classical elegance here inspire a totally contemporary, versatile and complete wardrobe, where passionate sartorial experimentation endows every garment with new meaning and projects an aesthetic attitude finely balanced between rigour and sensuality, masculinity and femininity, simplicity and glamour.
This is a tale of lightly delicate nuances, where natural tones like cristobal camel, astro brown and varying beiges alternate with powdery shades and mélange hues, or with deeper notes of yves blue and astro ruby, or with more vibrant energies like space red, couture pink and spark yellow.
Silhouettes are minimal and absolute. Tight volumes and fluid lines have been carefully studied to accommodate the movements of modern living. Couture-like tailoring and construction breed precise shapes… for example the high-waisted tulip-shaped skirts. The same goes for outerwear, which can either be rigorous and precise or looser and more relaxed. The new trouser suits combine tight bustier-like jackets with soft loose-fitting trousers, or alternatively pashmina tops with perfectly fitting skin-tight pants.
The choice of fabrics, and the philosophy of mixing exquisite luxury materials, create ultra-modern effects in a mood that oscillates continually between traditional wisdom and futuristic avant-garde.
In particular, conventional surfaces are renewed by the use of refined and unusual combinations, often involving appliques and techno materials like neoprene. Knitwear takes on a spikier consistency with the addition of latex, while chiffon is broken up by iridescent streaks and lurex lace. Printed patterns fake a jacquard effect that evokes antique tapestry and is further enhanced by the “new vintage luxury” approach that transforms tops, dresses and tracksuits into shining outfits glimmering with lace, shading effects, lurex decorative motifs, explosions of strass and strings of sequins.
The daring play between differing materials lies behind the success of the collection’s must-haves: lace fizzes on anoraks, drainpipe trousers or T-shirts, and even on light wool or classic silk satins. Jackets are enlivened by fringes and lurex inserts, while sequin decorations conjure up shimmering animalier forms worthy of a red carpet appearance. Classic herringbone patterns are enlivened by shading effects. Bold contrasts bring together and unite very different colours and materials. Soft leather abounds: ultra-light and ultra-soft, laminated, embossed, broken up by slashed folds or given weight by rock-style buckles.
