The Del Rey bag from Mulberry

Mulberry has named its latest handbag after the American singer Lana Del Rey, who was a front-row guest at the brand’s runway show in London this morning. She is also is due to perform at a dinner Mulberry is hosting tonight.

The brand’s creative director Emma Hill met Del Rey last year, and said she was taken with her “soulful, melancholy voice” and the “nostalgic beauty” of her “Video Games” single and video. “I love Lana’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and the fact that her look is retrospective, yet so modern. This inspired us to create a bag that was timeless, refined, and elegant,” said Hill.

As for our opinion as a blog...well let's hope next year we won't be having a new Industrial female singer like Lana or...Gaga made by and fully supported from Corporate Recording Companies... Promoting everywhere and so fast a talend that maybe does not really exist. Moreover playing marketing games like pretending that magazines like Rolling Stone offered their Cover within a week to a new but still Unknown music artist...while Adele was waiting about a year or more to become a cover on a magazine! Mercy!!!
