“Our identity is our most precious heritage”, says Annalisa Paresi, president of Malìparmi, “and it’s because we never lose sight of our roots that we’ve been able to grow and look to the future with vitality and confidence, supported by solid foundations”.
“Our identity is the spirit of the brand. It’s the common theme that links all our collections”, explains Silvia Bisconti, Malìparmi’s artistic director. “For this new collection we wanted to show the outside world what we regard as the heart of our identity, and we’ve chosen to do it through the icons that over the years have become the true symbols of our style”.
A series of displays has been created to narrate these symbols. It features a host of women, the most representative Malìparmi silhouettes that from season to season have defined the brand’s style and values of the brand.
The display unfolds with a homage to Marol Paresi, the company’s founding spirit. Her style, intense creativity, love of travel, curiosity about different cultures and burning passion have shaped the roots of the brand.
The journey culminates in an imaginary “Identity” city, with skyscrapers, display windows and virtual lifts in metropolitan buildings that describe the icons of the Malìparmi identity, the new silhouettes and the world of accessories.
The icons
Five iconic shapes always present in the collections and three different “ways of dressing” these garments – colour, print and embroidery. A well-defined, solid and sincere matrix: the brand identity.
“Precisa Patchouli”, the garment that best embodies the Malìparmi style. Like an artist’s canvas, it’s the ideal basis for prints and embroidery.
”A skirt”, the simple, easy skirt, like a classic sheath but with a better fit and greater comfort.
”Afrika coat”, an unmistakeable symbol of the Malìparmi style, evokes the 1950s and 60s, when the short coat was the hallmark of femininity and elegance.
“Cardigan 50’s”, comfy and ferminine, a must-have for every woman’s wardrobe or suitcase.
“Feminine Top”, more than a canottiera, less than a T-shirt, worn in to be seen openly or peeking out from beneath another garment.
New silhouette
The new Identity silhouette focuses on the skirt, heavy and light at the same time, real or with a trompe l’oeil effect – you’re wearing a dress, but it looks like a top and skirt. It’s perfect with an ultralight padded coat in two lengths, the patchwork bag in an array of materials and the ankle boots with ribbed, masculine socks. The look is completed by the leather micro-belt over coats and padded outerwear to emphasise the waistline, embellished by the reappearance of the pearls from the archives of the first Malìparmi collections.
The accessories
Patches and colours are the stars of this new collection.
The patchwork in a variety of harmoniously combined materials - suede in dégradé colours, whips with velvet and whips with suede in two geometric patterns, coconut with crackle leather, pony with suede and colourful, irregularly-dyed canneté.
A new shoulder flap bag, as well as the iconic Malìparmi shopping bag, also in a vertical version.
They are complemented by the new ankle boots, the comfy crossover, embroidered Kate with heel and, of course, the indispensable boots.
“Scarves & dintorni”, a capsule of craft-made scarves and foulards with exclusive prints. New models of tops, with a simple concept and construction – a few stitches and a band transform an accessory into something to wear.
